Technological Lesson Plan:
This lesson will give students an overview of the effects of Western Imperialism in Hawai’i and Western Influences on Native Hawaiian Culture it will allow them to observe some of these negative and positive influences for themselves by exploring primary source texts, and creating relevance in original videos, interviews, and observations; as well as review a teacher created website on this subject. Assessment(s): Western Influence on Hawaiian Culture (Survey(s) will provide an informal assessment of student self-reflection on learning) 1. Pre-assessment: Survey with quantitative numbers representing what students know about Hawaiian culture, Western Influence 2. Post-assessment: Survey with quantitative numbers representing what students know about Hawaiian culture, Western Influence (Blog- will provide a formal assessment of student self-reflection on learning) 3. Blog on Native Hawai’ian culture from primary sources. 4. Blog on positive and negative Western influences on Native Hawai’ian culture. |
